Here’s a summary of activity for the week ending September 7th, 2013.
This Unicursal DO AS THOU WILT Poster is another piece of helpful propaganda from the Ministry of Information, a take on the original trilogy of British posters from WWII combined with a quote from Aleister Crowley’s Hymn to Pan, a specifically interesting paraphrase of the Book of the Law. Go take a gander. There’s downloadable wallpapers of each, and links to t-shirts and posters for several designs as well.
Magick, Music and Ritual 8 has been released! Please do check out the tracks and artists who have participated on this issue, and also head on over to the Anthology Project pages or the library’s Bandcamp site and check out all the releases in the series.
I also announced a special on digital downloads of the complete 2011-2013 collection which includes all 8 released anthology albums, plus a pre-order for the 9th, which may be of interest if you want to catch up on collecting them all.
The next call for submissions, for the Fall 2013 issue, Magick, Music and Ritual 9, will post on September 15th, deadline on October 15th, planned for release around Samhain when the Sun is at 15° Scorpio, which will be November 7th.
The Fall 2013 issue will be the ninth in the series and complete the 2nd full year for the Anthology Project at the library. I’d really love to have this one be a spectacular issue, as it seems like quite a big deal to me, and I’m excited about the milestone; aren’t you too?! If you know anyone who would be interested in submitting tracks, consider letting them know.
Also, assuming I continue the series, I’m going to be looking for an artist to work with on the covers for the next full year. The cover for Fall 2012 was by Valerie Herron and over this year the four quarterly covers for 2013 have been done by Mustafa al-Laylah, but it’s time to start thinking about the next series of covers. If you know someone who would be great for this and interested in working with me on them, please have them get in touch with their ideas for covers that would span all four issues, but either combine into a whole poster or be such that each cover is a detail of some part of a larger image.
In addition to the Hermetic Library itself, do consider checking out the many ways you can participate in the work of the library, and ways you can become a supporter. Becoming a supporter, with either a one-time or recurring donation, will help the library pay hosting costs necessary to stay online, expand the collection, and develop other projects such as perhaps an actual Reading Room. In addition to feeling good about helping the library, becoming a supporter means you will be included in things such as occasional unannounced Postal Potlatch mailings as well as other regular fun such as receiving gratis download codes for each new Hermetic Library Album and more!
Other things you may wish to gander at are the opportunity to help create shared wisdom about the materials collected at the library at the Hermeneuticon Wiki and the web hosting services offered by the Hermetic Library at Hermetic Hosting.
