I went back in time
Howdy everyone! Here’s a public summary of my activity this week ending March 31, 2023!
Lots of work on the site this week, including adding books by both Ida Craddock and Ethel Archer. Lots of other news I’ll mention more specifically. This week I kinda just plowed through tons of things on the site, and I don’t have a lot else to say about that. So, you know, check out the new stuff and anything you missed on the blog this week!
Also, since April 1 is coming up, just a reminder that it’s a good week to be skeptical! So, maybe, check out Crowley’s essay The Soldier and the Hunchback!?
And, as always, I worked on various other things I’ve not specifically mentioned on website, blog, and more … Enjoy!
Thank you for visiting and being a guest of Hermetic Library. You help me be of service and make the work of the library meaningful. Especial thanks to each and every ongoing Patron on Patreon, Subscriber at Bandcamp, and Member on Ko-Fi for making the work of the library possible!

I’ve slowed down posting to one item a week because I’m low on things. I more than filled the previous issue, but now I need more submissions for this current one, if it is to happen, as planned, on Aphelion 2023.
- The end is best considered Before Beginning from The Headflux Chronicles, Book 1, by Will Lorimer
Things to check out at Hermetic Library
- I finished up all of David Richard Jones’ Invisible College, and also fixed up the separate but related Oratory. Both really suffered during the migration to the wiki engine, but they’re back, more or less. I used to have them as time capsules showing how they used to look, but in the wiki engine they really don’t look like they did, especially Oratory. But they’re back, natheless.
- I’ve started to add the Open Access and CC book Leper Creativity to Cyclonopedia Studies.
- I’ve added 5 more from the contents of Hargrave Jennings’ Phallic Worship, including The Pole, Loggin Stones etc, Pillars, Triads, and The Cross.
- I’ve added the first 5 items from the contents of Hargrave Jennings’ The Rosicrucians, including Preface to the Third Edition, Preface to the Second Edition, Preface to the First Edition, and Critics of the Rosicrucians Criticized.
- I created an entry for Marchosias in Hermeneuticon with images from MidJourney.
- I improved the formatting of THE TANK in The Equinox III:i, which includes Crowley’s review of Craddock’s Heavenly Bridegrooms. I then added a top level section for works by Ida Craddock, including Heavenly Bridegrooms. Then I updated the entry in Hermeneuticon again with links to the new things.
- I added all of Ethel Archer’s The Whirlpool, a collection of poetry, some of which previously appears in The Equinox, by this woman of Thelema.
And on the blog
All the quotes, reviews, &c. (But not OG, Events Calendar, Zine, &c.)
- I went back in time and added Hermetic Library Newsletter #6 (It’s like Bernie Sanders is truly here in the room with me!) to the archives on the blog.
- FreakAngels—Hermetic Library Fellow T Polyphilus reviews FreakAngels, Vol. 1 by Warren Ellis and Paul Duffield, part of the FreakAngels series.
- don’t you see that all I had to do was to put out some brightly-coloured and mellifluous lie, and avoid treading on too many toes, to have had hundreds of thousands of idiots worshipping me?—Aleister Crowley, Magick Without Tears, Chapter LXXI: Morality (2)
- I mean, these fuckers are dead, and they’re talking about their true wills, right? “… whether they will absorption in the infinite, or to be united with their chosen and preferred…” that’s Nuit – “or to be in contemplation, or to be at peace, or to achieve the labor and heroism of incarnation…” Bingo! “on this planet or another, or in any Star, or aught else, unto them may there be granted the accomplishment of their wills…” Hot shit. Means a whole hell of a lot more’s going on here than just the Miracle of Incarnation – the Baptism of Wisdom, whereby we accomplish the Miracle of Incarnation. It means it comes before the Miracle of Incarnation.—Karen DePolito, “the Aeon of the Death Cookie”: A Conversation About the Gnostic Mass Between Bishop Richard Gernon and Rt. Rev. Jerome Peartree
- The supreme and absolute injunction, the crux of your knightly oath, is that you lay your lance in rest to the glory of your Lady, the Queen of the Stars, Nuit. Your knighthood depends upon your refusal to fight in any lesser cause.—Aleister Crowley, New Comment on I:52, Liber AL vel Legis, The Book of the Law
- Sufism—Hermetic Library Fellow T Polyphilus reviews Sufism: The Formative Period by Ahmet T Karamustafa.
- The theogony of our Law is entirely scientific, Nuit is Matter, Hadit is Motion, in their full physical sense. «The Proton and the Electron, in a metaphysical sense, suggest close analogies.» They are the Tao and Teh of Chinese Philosophy; or, to put it very simply, the Noun and Verb in grammar. Our central Truth – beyond other philosophies – is that these two infinities cannot exist apart.—Aleister Crowley, New Comment on I:1, Liber Al vel Legis, The Book of the Law
- Marchosias—Generated visuals for Marchosias from Goetia using Midjourney from a mix of parsed text description & seal image prompts.
- If you’re too terrified of life and love and the earth to fuck me, just lie in the dark and groove on being flesh, on feeling desire because another human being, a strange and unknown human being, is naked and open to you.—Mary Sativa, Acid Temple Ball
- When you have proved that God is merely a name for the sex instinct, it appears to me not far to the perception that the sex instinct is God.—Aleister Crowley, review of Ida Craddock’s Heavenly Bridegrooms from The Tank in The Equinox III:1
- Occult Love Fest, March 2023—It’s Occult Love Fest-ursday! The last Thursday o’ the month. Occult roll call! Sound off!
