Heugh Lighthouse

Heugh Lighthouse
(Ace of Space/Paul Le Hat)

With the passage of time comes responsibilities, not only with one self but with other people. Increasingly, in a world moving faster and faster towards information overload, mass observation by governments, environmental degradation, the steady collapse of 20th century capitalism and warped media saturation, some of the human race are trying to reassess and realign themselves with what is important to living in the post modern era.

This is not disillusionment, this is not nostalgia, this is not regression, this is not the age of Aquarius, and most definitely not a new religion in any shape or form. Still we must learn from the past and at the same time learn to confine our prejudices to history. Who wants to live in a new dark age? Who wants to live like skeletons? If we are to truly communicate it should be with a broader, more universal outlook in mind in a world without borders, without hierarchy, without kings or queens, without secrecy at any level.

So far it is working, but the transmissions are intermittent.

The Miller Man.

Discontent is unavailable …

One man wave of cinematic electronica from Northumbria. Has so far produced five full length albums.

Whatever it means to Ace of Space it means capturing the moment, just like taking a photograph or snapshot, in musical terms. These eclectic collections so far are a mixture of old school electronica and guitar instrumentals and atmospheric soundtrack work suitable for film, TV or radio.

A distorted guitar experiment.

Rose Price — original composition, performance, keyboard, editing, mastering January 2013

December Luna Music is a musical project created by Jessica Rose Price, violist and composer/arranger. Rose has 16 years of musical experience and exposure, starting with viola lessons from Professor Paul Windt of Muhlenburgh College in Pennsylvania. She received private vocal instruction from Lunda Cornelius, for five years, and was also involved with Pennsylvania Youth Theater in dance and theater. She graduated from the Lehigh Valley Performing Arts High School in Pennsylvania and was a violist for the Young People’s Philharmonic & Moravian College Orchestra; she then went on to be the second chair violist for the Richmond Philharmonic in Virginia.

In the beginning of 2011, Rose was the violist and assistant recording producer of Gypsy Cat Project, a guitar/viola duo who performed in Tucson and Las Vegas. By June she started her solo music career, began composing, and tutoring viola students. Rose performed at many nightlife hot spots in Tucson, including People’s Imports, La Cocina, The Hut, Tucson Botanical Gardens, and at the Fox Theater with the Tucson Civic Orchestra. She also was a special guest on The Duke and Cat Show—Access Tucson, and The Breakfast Club hosted by BSceneLive. Her unforgettable viola playing & vocals have been heard alongside several other bands, including Dr. Meatpie, Cinder Bridge, Top Dead Center, Heaven’s Gators, Modern Feedback, and One Heartbeat. Currently, Last.FM, CauldronFM in the UK, and No Label AZ Radio, circulate air time for Rose’s original songs. The Hermetic Library featured December Luna Music’s original songs, “The Golden Rule” and “Tourniquet,” on the Magick, Music and Ritual series of anthologies. Rose is now performing with the acoustic band, THE PRICE IS RICE at venues all around the Lehigh Valley, Pocono’s and Reading areas, including the Sherman Theater, Sarah Street Grill, Revolutions, and The Gin Mill, to name a few. Rose Price was nominated for “outstanding string instrumentalist” for the Lehigh Valley Music Awards 2014. December Luna Music’s second solo album, Children of the Mystics will be released in the near future.

Doomsday

Doomsday
(Redfern)

Moody trip hop from a ancient Sumer. A file shockingly close to the modern Midi standard was unearthed, the ancient floppy dusted off and plugged into a modern Linux system and lo and behold this strange tune was reanimated with some command line recompilation and arrangements in the open source moms software to bring this ancient mystery music back to life.

Shams93 is the brainchild of composer/performer Brian Redfern. Brian graduated from CalArts in 1998, having studied composition with Nyoman Wenten, Kobla Ladzepko and Wadada Leo Smith. In 2005 Brian switched from guitar to the ancient middle eastern instrument, the oud, studying with virtuoso Yuval Ron.

Previously Brian had been the guitarist for Los Hermanos de Jazz who had opened up for bands such as the Stone Temple Pilots and performed sessions for Death Row Records, back in the wild and crazy early 1990s. Back then he also created a project called “Aleister’s Bastards” inspired by the work 777 by Aleister Crowley. However at the time, he had no idea he lived right down the street from the famous occult author, Lon Milo DuQuette.

Shams93 runs the gamut from purely acoustic solo oud to electronic music and live electric performance. Brian plays both acoustic and electric oud and uses the ancient system of “Maqam music” from the middle east to compose new material based on ancient patterns.

He is greatly inspired by recent John Zorn projects such as the Crowley String quartet, which explore occult concepts with instrumental music inspired by western classical and avant-garde.

Besides having earned an MFA from CalArts Brian is an initiated Freemason, 3○, 32○, Thelemite and self-initiated Sufi/Ishmaeli. He’s also a 3○ in the OTO and a probationer of the A∴A∴, so occult practice and meditation are massive influences on the music of Shams93.

Silence is Mine

Silence is Mine
(Late)

Taken from my debut release Language of Wounds the track Silence is Mine was composed as an attempt to convey something of the delight and confusion encountered as a result of finding oneself unexpectedly free. Free of the constraints of the physical body, free from the labors of the mind, free from the forced paradigm of fixed identity. It represents a departure point from Work of the World. During the winter that this track was composed my friends and I found ourselves dealing with an inordinate amount of death and this had a dramatic influence upon my composing that year. I felt it important to compose a track that was not only light and wonderful but could also voice the event of Death as being a portal into great wonder beyond the veil, a harbinger expansion and growth even — rather than the dire and final cataclysm of my childhood conditioning.

MVNIHVD is a solo sonic exploration of self by Late James that excavates the layers of the past to uncover the untapped potential of the future. Evolution is the objective, sonic praxis is the key.

MVNIHVD displays an unflinching dedication to examining personal wounds with brutal honesty, and sometimes considered delicacy; bound by a desire to come into contact with that Self beyond self. Divers dreams and broken forms collide yielding wonder in spaces between. MVNIHVD is strange, heavy and beautiful music.

“The predigestion of evil…which (the individual) carries out as part of the process of assimilating his shadow makes him, at the same time, an agent for the immunization of the collective. An individual’s shadow is invariably bound up with the collective shadow of his group, and as he digests his own evil, a fragment of the collective evil is invariably co-digested at the same time.” – Erich Neumann, Depth Psychology and a New Ethic

Dying Gods

Dying Gods
(Thompson)

The song is a testament to society and what is going on in the world, especially from a standpoint of urban America. Dying gods ’cause gods are dying we leave in the day where the false gods of mainstream religion are idolized over arcane esoteric gods of the occult.

It probably would be easier if we told you what J.Flash doesn’t do, but Flash is an MC, entrepreneur, comic book writer, director, actor, and producer. His journey has been anything but painless. J.Flash started writing poetry at the age of 6 and began to turn those poems into narrative rhymes with thought provoking lyrics. After his first love with football didn’t pan out, J.Flash focused all of his energy into his music. In 2011, J.Flash made the inaugural Hulkshare “Featured Artist” list and was described as a “lyricist with a boom bap conversational flow”. J.Flash will be making the documentary hip hop film “Art of Rhyme 2.0” alongside Mos Def, Black Thought, KRS-ONE, and others. Flash’s first feature film “Boundary of Love” will be appearing on the festival circuit in 2013 as well as his comic “Diaries of Invasion”. J.Flash is ready to take the game by storm and will stop at nothing until he has done just that.

Glad That I Live Am I

Glad That I Live Am I
(Loftiss/S/Reese)

Elizabeth S. – vocals, banjo
R. Loftiss – guitar, synths

“Glad that I Live Am I” is a traditional hymn sung in many English childrens’ schools. The words were written by Lizette W. Reese in 1909. Elizabeth S. has always been fond of the song and its transformative lyrics and wished to do her own take on it.

… being R Loftiss and Elizabeth S.

Oklahoma’s R Loftiss (Bells, Whistles, Bows, Voices, Treatments), has been making experimental starscapes using the dust and ashes of Earth since 2001 and creating from them albums of otherworldly loveliness as The Gray Field Recordings.

Elizabeth S (Banjo, Voices) has worked with the influential English pioneering post punk duo of Eyeless In Gaza since 1993.

After a fortuitous meeting under the dreary skies of Nuneaton, further plans were laid and made amidst fulminations of joy on the island of Euboea. “Glad That I Live Am I” is the first fruition of their union…

Sketch of an Ancestral Dream

Sketch of an Ancestral Dream
(Robertson/Kenney/Kang)

“Sketch of an Ancestral Dream” was constructed from recordings of guided improvisations dealing with the transmission of ancient, ancestral knowledge through dream and semi-conscious states. Instrumentation includes voice, rebab, frame drum and Javanese gamelan.

Dedicated to the creation and dissemination of unconventional musical hybrids and originally formed in 1988, frogtoboggan was not manifested as self until 1992. Since this time, experiments have focused on channeling subconscious variables and furthering their realization by manifesting signals in the corporeal universe.

The frogtoboggan musical apparatus typically, but not exclusively, produces handmade, custom releases, including lathe-cut records in editions of 23 most of which are re-issued as digital versions at a later date.

Other projects which the frogtoboggan has been responsible for perpetuating or participating within are Cloudland, Venerable Showers of Beauty, Gamelan Auxiliary Unguent, and Gamelan Spontificus.

The Great Descent

The Great Descent
(OrosKhaos)

The Great Descent
The Great Descent

OrosKhaos is a direct manifestation of our path and journey, and The Great Descent is the first chapter in our expression of it. It represents the monad and trident, within the centre of which the eye, or the consciousness resides, and the journey that begins thereof toward unity and oneness of spirit. The entire expression is to be seen as one totality, but is split between two pieces. The Great Descent being the most fundamental portion, and Fivefold Impetus Toward Unity (Part I) being an offering of both this and a separate greater whole.

Fivefold Impetus Toward Unity is a piece of five parts, each of which shall be released on consecutive expressions, until upon the fifth, it reaches its whole. It is an exploration of the four principal elements and central spirit that make up the divine five pointed star.

Open your hearts, open your souls, open your ears but close your two eyes and make way for the one that is the third.

There is no ego or self indulgence within this presentation, but rather self sacrifice, where aspects of self both die and birth upon the path toward spiritual oneness and truth. A solely devotional expression that gives voice to the silent, formless void, in shapes that are formed through experience, intellect and the awakening of the “inner eye”; the sovereign cadence of which we seek via the triangle/monad.

OrosKhaos is a tool through which we receive and express aspects of this journey toward spiritual oneness; beyond duality and opposites, in the silence of His fire.

A perfect imperfection; a complete incompletion …

May the left hand tug the veil of Maya and reveal Pralaya.
