Hermetic Library Anthology Artist Children of Osiris

My name is Marc, I first encountered esoteric ideas when I was 15 years old in a book called The Black Arts by Richard Cavendish, It was not until I was 17 that I was introduced to the ideas in the Book of Thoth by Aleister Crowley (especially The Tarot and Animism) . I am now 45 and have related to various esoterica through music, art and personal practice during the intervening time. From Psychic TV and Coil to The shamen and Goa Trance via Throbbing gristle and everything in the Rave scene from the late eighties onwards. It seems impossible to fill this space with all my influences from the world of musick.

My process to create starts with words, I use keywords and expressions around an intention and cut up the ideas until they give birth to something that intuitively feels correct. I then paint the assemblage of language into a montage of symbolic images and colours. After this I charge the image through acoustic percussion and mantra (traditional or otherwise). Once I have obtained communication with my project and entered into a contract with it I move to my PC maintaining the state of trance and interaction in order to assemble a sonic tapestry of samples and sounds that reflect or are guided and informed to be representations of my communion with my work, I then edit and restructure. (Though not always) The sound has to be a reality of the contract/contact those are the terms and conditions.

I compose sound under three names Wolven Angel (Inspired by T.A.Z), M.A.R. and Children of Osiris, These personas/conditions/constructs serve different attitudes of purpose in order to guide certain aspects of my projects. Each set of conditions forms a set of temporary expressions recorded.

Anthology News, 24nov2023

I’ve got more news!

First off, I’ve just yesterday released the supporter-exclusive This Is Not An Hermetic Library Album -5, for US Thanksgiving, by which the participants on the upcoming anthology, Magick, Music and Ritual 18, and I, all say a special thank you to those who are able to offer ongoing support for the library and my work, with even just $1/mo. And, it’s not too late to become a subscriber on Bandcamp to immediately get all 5 supporter-exclusive TINAHLAA albums and 2 MMR releases, last year’s and, in December, the upcoming release. Until MMR18 releases, and replaces MMR17, that’s potentially a total of 7 albums for just $12 on Bandcamp, if you grab them now. And, this is the last time this particular deal will be available. I’m going to be closing down the subscription offer on Bandcamp at the end of this year.

(Ofc there’s also the special offer over on Itch, where all anthology titles there are 25% off individually and the entire “so far” discography is only $66.60, which will be ongoing for the next year … just saying.)

Noah23 has a new music video for The Cost Of Living by DJ DD feat. NOAH23. “This song addresses the modern economic climate, drug addiction and poverty in our communities and country.”

Children Of Osiris released Hyperuranion

Wolven Angel released Archons

PANICMACHINE released Unformed, Immaculate, Sanctified by P Emerson Williams

PD157: POST-MORTEM 2023 ✞ [Forgotten Links], by Opus Vivaldi was just re-released by Pedicure Records

Worms of the Earth released Kheri-Habet

And, that’s it for now!

Now that TINAHLAA-5 has released for supporters on Patreon and Bandcamp, it’s only another week until Magick, Music and Ritual 18 release for everyone to check out! I’m excited to finally get to share this with you, as I am every year, and add to the vast discography from Hermetic Library over the years.

So, of course, be sure to check out the entire anthology project at Hermetic Library, Itch, and in all the digital streaming and online shops.

I asked each participant in the regular anthology issue to also submit something for this this additional release. So with extra gratitude their way, those who were kind enough to submit additional material, here is this special new issue exclusive to Subscribers on Bandcamp and Patrons on Patreon. This, then, released for Thanksgiving day in the US, is a thank you gift just for those who offer their ongoing support for the library and my work as the librarian, from both myself and these artists.

For Subscribers on Bandcamp, they already have this release added in their collections there. For Patrons on Patreon, they can get this release by heading to this Patron Access link on Itch. I recommend placing it between MMR17 and MMR18, as that’s where I built the playlist to enhance the experience for those with all the things. But, you do you!

To both participants and supporters, I say happy and hearty Thanksgiving day, and, moreover, thank you, thank you, thank you!

Anthology news, 17nov2023

Here’s some news for you!

Since the last “anthology news” post, I’ve announced the wide availability of MMR9, MMR10 and MMR11 everywhere! (I’ve also added MMR12 to Itch, which was the only place it wasn’t yet.)

Even more, I’ve also now added the subscriber-exclusive issues TINAHLAA-1 through -4 over on Itch, which can be grabbed by any Patron with a digital perk, in the same way that Subscribers on Bandcamp have been having these alternate issues added to their collections. I talk about this more in Newsletter #145. But, this is part of my transition away from Bandcamp as the primary home-away-from-home for the library, in favour, currently, of Itch.

Anantakara has released Across A Veiled River on the Cyclical Dreams label. “This album is a long musical poem exploring uncertain crossings of all kinds. 9 previously unreleased tracks, atmospheres, melodies, rhythms: a powerful desire to love life despite the trials and tribulations…”

Artista di Merda has released Hyper Rock Hits, an epic mixtape on Pedicure records

Amy Denio released Amy Denio & Bill Horist: Church and State. “This year I’ve been playing with phenomenal guitarist and improviser Bill Horist, and two of our concerts have been recorded ~ at the Chapel Performance Space in Seattle, and our live soundtrack for the classic silent film Metropolis, recorded at the historic Steam Plant in Georgetown.”

Children of Osiris has a video for their track Pazuza.

Vanessa Sinclair & Pete Murphy released The Experience (For The Weird) (#14)

Johann Heyss released Dragon of Dread – Antoine Trauma Remixes

Machabray released Black Ronin Diaries

Radio Free Clear Light released Recidivo

Just another week until TINAHLAA-5 releases for supporters on Patreon and Bandcamp! So, now would be a great time to become a Patron! (It’s less ideal to now become a new Subscriber on Bandcamp, as I’ll be phasing that out; but you can still grab a total of five TINAHLAA and two MMR albums automatically added to your collection before the end of the year for just $12 or more!)

And, of course, be sure to check out the entire anthology project at Hermetic Library, Itch, and in all the digital streaming and online shops.

Dvar has a video slideshow of paintings by Eidrigevicius set to their track Voh Voh

Children Of Osiris released Genesis Ov Prayer 4 and a single Cicada

Apparently PseudoNovalis’ Opus Vivaldi is dead, and the new band is Artista de Merda? Well, they released CHOPPING MALL Rock N’ Roll and Music Is Your Only Friend

PANICMACHINE released An End Without End by Choronzon — “Far have we wandered, and extensive is the material accumulated along the way. Over a hundred tracks lie at various stagers of development, and the Daimon insists on tormenting with more visions. We are pleased to bring Choronzon – An End Without End as an opening shot for the less digestible material to come.”

Mold Omen had a live show yesterday and I didn’t tell you about it in time, so let me mention that there’s a few Mold Omen releases over on the Cavern Brew Records page, even though they ceased new releases in 2022, and you can still grab their whole, rather extensive, discography for just $11.11 (or more)

Blasting Rod will be performing 10/15 at a free concert in Inuyama, Japan. “11AM~7+PM with 13 Bands, Tarot Reader タロット, Acupuncturist 鍼灸師, 6 Pop-Ups 出店, Mini 4wd Races ミニ四駆, 2 Food Vendors 屋台, 3 Visual Artists アート, a Wet Bar…and more? Okay, that was a lot!

And, of course, be sure to check out the anthology at Hermetic Library, Bandcamp, and in all the digital streaming and online shops. MMR7 is next in line to show up in all the places, and I’ve got planned releases in late November and early December coming up!
