Theatric Arcana

Theatric Arcana is a tumblog which appears to be a collaboration between Dakota Crane (aka louddetective), contributor to the Hermetic Library visual pool, and the people over at FoolishPeople, and is an interesting and curious tie-in to the film Strange Factories.

Theatric Arcana 1

The tumblog is a series of posts which are comprised of images of various illustrated envelopes and the pages of correspondence contained within each, a kind of sequential performance art and roleplaying piece. It really is the similarity to the correspondence-based psychodrama that I’ve been dabbling with over at De Profundis that caused Theatric Arcana to catch my eye. Anyhow, you may be interested in checking out the tumblog, and the film.

Theatric Arcana 2

Beyond the Pillars of the Black Pharaoh

“Unseated from the ineluctable finality of being, severed from the chains and strictures of temporality, you were set here, in a facility of your own supraconscious design, imprisoned by the variegation of your potentiality, to face yourself until your culminations are winnowed into survivability. You are free to choose from the accepted conclusions, but the choice must be made; the waveform must be collapsed.”

The Hermetic Library visual pool is a visual scavenger hunt for images of a living Western Esoteric Tradition. If you would like to submit your work for consideration as part of the visual pool, head over to the Hermetic Library visual pool or contact the librarian.

Dakota Crane original drawings for sale

Dakota Crane, a frequent contributor to the Hermetic Library visual pool, has posted that he’s offering for sale the originals of several images that have appeared here in the past. You might be interested in checking that out.

“So I have some original drawings for sale. Prints of these have not been made and likely never will be. They all in simple wood-grain frames, except for Hyophex, which is in a black wooden frame. All drawings are 8 1/2 by 11.” [via]

Fragment of the Burnt Manuscript, by W.W. Watts

“I prepared these pieces for Foolish People’s production ‘Virulent Experience’; the package disappeared somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean.

All of these pieces come from the files of Dr. Langstrom Thraum.”
