In the Center of the Fire: Aeons

In the Center of the Fire: Aeons” from Imperium Pictures is a video with James Wasserman discussing the concept of Aeons, and the New Aeon of Horus.

James Wasserman is the founder of the Ordo Templi Orientis’ (O.T.O.) NYC Tahuti Lodge and one of the foremost practitioners of the magical system of Aleister Crowley. His most recent book is In the Center of the Fire: A Memoir of the Occult 1966-1989, which chronicles the occult scene in New York City in the 1970s and ’80s. In this segment, he elucidates the Thelemic conception of history as a progression of aeons, represented by the Egyptian gods Isis, Osiris and Horus.

The children of Horus will dance in the street

When old ways have died and become obsolete!

Enslavement of nations forever withdrawn,

I raise up the cup and adore Babalon!

“Behind her is her KA or real Ego; the hands, lifted in aspiration above the head, enclose the rectangular parallelogram representing the Portal of Wisdom in which is written the HORUS or heroic Name which according to Egyptian dogma was to be won by the Theurgic rites of Initiation. On it is seated the Royal HORUS BAIE.” [via]

“This latter principle is represented in four ways; by a hawk Crowned, or the HORUS BAIE; by a human-headed hawk; by a Bennu bird or by a ram. The BAIE (spirit) can operate through the egg-like principle contained in the AB and the KA (human Ego) through the concave principle.” [via]
