Ritual of Imbolc, February 1
As I previously mentioned, Magick, Music and Ritual 10 has been indefinitely postponed. There will be no quarterly releases from the project in 2014.
I had announced Magick, Music and Ritual 10 as the Winter 2014 album from the Anthology Project and posted a call for submissions, but I have decided to indefinitely postpone that issue. Today that Hermetic Library Album would have been released for astronomical Imbolc. I’m feeling a bit bummed at not having the chance put an anthology together and share it today.
If there’s sufficient interest, I may announce a call for submissions for Magick, Music and Ritual 10 as one annual anthology release in 2014. If there’s not sufficient interest in participating in the creation of at least the annual anthology this year, then the project will end.
So, if you’ve enjoyed these anthology albums as much as I have, then be sure to check out all the previously released anthology albums, consider participating when the next call for submissions is posted, and let people you know, who may be interested in these albums, know about the project.
If you really want to let me know that you want to project to continue, consider picking up the digital download of one or more of these anthology albums; or grab the special offer on the complete 2011-2013 collection which includes all 9 released anthology albums.
Meanwhile, if you have any questions, comments or want to talk about the anthology project, feel free to let me know!
I recently announced Magick, Music and Ritual 10 as the Winter 2014 album from the Anthology Project and posted a call for submissions on Dec 15th, 2013. Regrettably, I have decided to indefinitely postpone that issue. There will be no quarterly releases from the project in 2014.
If there’s interest, I may try for a single anthology release in 2014, moving to an annual release schedule, and hope the project is able to continue in that fashion. If there’s not sufficient interest in participating in the creation of an annual anthology this year, then the project will end.

There are less than two weeks left until the Winter 2014 submissions deadline for participation on Magick, Music and Ritual 10, the next Hermetic Library Album; and, unless I get enough suitable submissions for this issue I will be forced to postpone release. And, I’m also forced to wonder, without response to the call for submissions, perhaps this is the end of quarterly anthology releases, and perhaps the anthology project?
Deadline for submissions is Jan 15th, 2014. Release planned for Feb, 2014 around astronomical Imbolc.
Check out the Hermetic Library Album call for Winter 2014 submissions for more, if you like. But do be sure to read through the terms and conditions for artist submissions to an anthology album (which includes some new and more specific information about acceptable file formats), and after that if you have any questions, comments or wish to contribute to this project; contact the librarian.
Please consider joining the Hermetic Library in promoting your work by contributing to this benefit anthology album project. All proceeds from album sales will support the library to help cover hosting costs, materials acquisitions, and other expenses.
Check out all the previously released anthology albums, help spread the word about the Hermetic Library anthology project and this new opportunity to participate to those you think may be interested. Especially, check out the most recent release for Fall 2013, Magick, Music and Ritual 9, and the previous Winter release, Magick, Music and Ritual 6.
I am announcing the Winter 2014 call for submissions for Magick, Music and Ritual 10, the tenth anthology album of tracks by artists inspired by or who incorporate ritual and magick in their work. These anthology albums help promote artists to the audience of the Hermetic Library and beyond. These albums raise awareness about the connection between ritual, magick and music.
Winter 2014 marks the first album in this third full calendar year of quarterly album releases for the anthology project. The deadline for submissions to the Winter 2014 anthology album is Jan 15th. Be sure to stay tuned to the blog and the pages for the Hermetic Library anthology project for reminders and updates along the way.

Requiem
(Exomène)
In memoriam SPB (1988-2012), requiescat in pace. The lyrics are out of a requiem mass.
French artist Exomène is a soundsmith and digital apothecary.
A soundsmith because he works sounds like a potter his clay, or a blacksmith his metal: hammering, stretching, twisting sounds until they fit all together into a coherent piece of music.
As a digital apothecary, his approach is quite the same: playing with an abstract material as if it was physical in a more experimental way. The sound in itself is no longer triturated but what generates it is subjected to several techniques: data-bending, generativity, algorithm, glitch…
These two approaches stem from the same mysticism that holds abstract and physical materials are the same thing in different realms.

Hermetic Library Anthology Project – Magick Music and Ritual 6
Head of a Pin
(Simpson)
“The Head Of A Pin” was an attempt to re-create a magickal working, and became a sound-collage ritual all its own, in the making. It’s part of an on-going series (first started here at the occult anthology with “Strange Angels”, under a different name) of rituals, that have spanned recordings, live performances, and private investigation. It’s a refining fire; the bones peek through the skin. It’s getting thin…
Dessicant uses analog and electronic devices to conduct sonic rituals, a portable portal into strange, grey realms with twitching blurred outlines. Its like peering into a dirty fishbowl, with a human head in it. Inspired by anyone who has ever aspired to blend magick and art.
