The Search for Leadership

Hermetic Library fellow T Polyphilus reviews The Search for Leadership by Allen E Roberts from Macoy:

Allen E Roberts' The Search for Leadership from Macoy Publishing

Roberts is a popular author on Freemasonry, and this book collects his essays, articles, and papers on the practical work of lodge organizing and cultivation of leadership. While much of the book is addressed to the peculiar institutional issues of contemporary Masonry, there is plenty of material relevant to other lodge-based organizations. [via]

The Hermetic Library Reading Room is an imaginary and speculative future reification of the library in the physical world, a place to experience a cabinet of curiosities offering a confabulation of curation, context and community that engages, archives and encourages a living Western Esoteric Tradition. The Magic Circle

Hermetic Library fellow T Polyphilus reviews The Magic Circle : Its Successful Organization And Leadership [also] by Yaj Nomolos:

Yaj Nomolos' The Magic Circle from The Occult Emporium

This slender text, styled “an occult group leader’s handbook,” has some commonsense advice about organizing, in a hilarious, earthy style. It is addressed to ad hoc organizers, more than those operating within obligations to an existing order, but it is entertaining and thought-provoking regardless. Don’t let the Crowley misquotes and juvenile power-mongering put you off. It’s not pristine wisdom of the ancients, but it’s a fun, provocative read. [via]
