Hermetic Library Newsletter #106

it’s time to close that chapter

Howdy everyone! Here’s a public summary of my activity this week ending February 3, 2023!

This week I worked on adding new entries in Hermeneuticon and improving Trevor Blake’s OVO zine. I also created new Patron merch, and completely changed how I’m doing merch. I revamped the library’s Patreon and Ko-Fi profiles to better reflect the new merch regime, and all the changes recently made everywhere. I got started adding various old newsletters to the blog from various old platforms.

Plus the usual weekly stuff like almanac, propaganda, calendar, zine, updates, quotes, reviews, and more!

And, as always, I worked on various other things on website, blog, and more … Enjoy!

Thank you for visiting and being a guest of Hermetic Library. You help me be of service and make the work of the library meaningful. Especial thanks to each and every Patron and Subscriber for making the work of the library possible!

And, I created a new bit of propaganda and added more tales from Laura Gibbs.

Plus the usual weekly stuff like almanac, propaganda, calendar, zine, updates, quotes, reviews, and more!

And, as always, I worked on various other things on website, blog, and more … Enjoy!

Hermetic Library Newsletter #104

banging my head against the wall for a while, as one does

This week I continued to work on new server Crocell, and decommissioned servers Abraxas and Furcas. I added the first chapter of St Irvyne, a Rosicrucian themed novel, by Figure Shelley and started adding The House of the Vampire by Figure Viereck. And, I’ve been working with someone on a cover for pretty PDF version of the recent zine issue, so there’s a sneak peek at the current draft WIP front and back.

Plus the usual weekly stuff like almanac, propaganda, meme, calendar, zine, updates, quotes, reviews, and more!

And, as always, I worked on various other things on website, blog, and more … Enjoy!

♬ Action cat, moving quick, lookin' good ♬ passing through your neighborhood ♫

This week I’ve welcomed Crocell as a new trainee on the team of machines that run Hermetic Library stuff. Crocell is an experiment that I’m going to be trying to consolidate a few things, in order to reduce costs. Not to jinx it, but I’m hoping that will help me economize at least at least a little bit, if not more. We’ll see how it goes and if I can do what I’m hoping will work. I don’t have much else to say about that right now, but it’s been a big part of my week.

Plus, there the usual weekly stuff like almanac, propaganda, memes of cats and things, calendar, zine, updates, quotes, reviews, mail call, and more!

And, as always, I worked on various other things on website, blog, and more … Enjoy!

Don't open it, Pandora! You'll let the Internet out! Run!

First week of the new calendar year! Hope your festivities were … festive. For my part, I was just hanging out with the library cats, as one does. But, I was most excited for perihelion, when the earth is closest in its orbit to the sun.

Speaking of perihelion, I’ve wrapped an issue of Hermetic Library Zine for January 2023! With that, I’ve started collecting contents for an issue at aphelion in 6 months. I also took a break from creating images for Goetia and tarot this week, but kept posting from the previous week (except not entirely cold turkey because I did create a meme). This week I also welcome Trevor Blake’s OVO ‘zine as a new Reflection, a restored archive of a zine that fall off the Internet. And, after a lengthy hiatus, I posted new merch for Patrons and on the public shop!

Plus, there the usual weekly stuff like almanac, propaganda, memes, calendar, zine, updates, quotes, reviews, mail call, and more!

And, as always, I worked on various other things on website, blog, and more … Enjoy!

Hermetic Library Newsletter #67

I’m not sure what I’m doing (still!), but I’m doing it (again!)

This week I am introducing this new Hermetic Library Newsletter. I also try to talk simply about RSS and ActivityPub since these are related topics, and I also acknowledge there may be a learning curve. But, I think it’s worth the effort to do.

Hope you had a great, happy, fun observed and astronomical Beltane, or whatever and however you celebrate this time of year.

Plus there’s almanac, propaganda, memes, merch, updates, quotes, reviews, and more!

And, as always, I worked on various other things on website, blog, and more … Enjoy!

Magical Work in Oz

Check out guest artist Miky Morgado’s “The Tower”! Look for more from Miky on the blog and in the zine.

For my part, I was reminded of Oz, made an authentic Unicursal Hexagram pizza, a special Unicursal Heart for Lupercalia, and, as always, worked on the website, blog, and more … Enjoy!

By the by, this week through next week is a winter storm, with snow everywhere and temperatures way below freezing all day, here at the library. Hope you’re staying comfy, whatever value of comfy is appropriate for your current local weather!

(How to order a pizza in Thelema)

So, yeah. That happened.

Newsletter created, old (shh! let’s pretend that didn’t ever happen) newsletter subscribers imported, first (yeah, yeah, technically: new) newsletter sent. And now a second issue.

Well, this is a real thing that is actually happening now!

Summary for two weeks ending July 28th, 2019

Here’s a summary of activity for two weeks ending July, 2019.

Oh, wow. I just realized that I put June as the month on the last update, even though it was July. I don’t even know what, but that I’ve been so frazzled because of all the work being done. Still being done. It’s been almost a month now. I don’t see the end yet, and almost nothing that’s been started has been completed. Everything is in turmoil, but I’ve been getting work done on the site in the mornings before the contractors get here.

By the by, I’ll be making my list of all current Postal and Subscription Patrons for the next mailing soon! My schedule for that got all off as I’ve been flummoxed. But, I’ll be doing that list, and then plan on sending something out in the first few weeks of August to everyone.

Welp, I finished a bunch of new pages, and the contractors have arrived as I’ve been writing this. So, it begins again!

Don’t forget! I’ve posted the call for submissions to Magick, Music and Ritual 15, the anthology for 2019.

Hermetic Library Anthology 2019 Magick Music and Ritual 15 Call for Submissions

I’m obviously looking for audio tracks, but also cover artwork, and other bonus downloads! Will you participate this year? Know someone who might want to participate? Let them know about it and have them get in touch with me!

Still looking for help and others to join me in a working community around the library, of course.

Lots of new pages and work on old pages on the site, which is pretty much every week, really. You can always check the front page of the site which shows the most recent changes and new pages, or check out the Recent Changes special page for a full list.

Want to join me on this blog and create new art or writing for Hermetic Library? Pitch your Idea.

Help get some conversations started over on the BBS and in Chat.

Be sure to check out the actual Hermetic Library, and subscribe on Bandcamp or become a Patron.
