Faint gibbering heard from somewhere near the restricted stacks

SATAN-TYPHON. O Sun, my brother, is it thy will that I have speech with thee? For I have lain with thee nine moons in the womb of our mother; for we have loved as none have loved; for I am closer knit with thee than light and darkness, or that life and death!
“Hail unto Thee who art Ra in Thy rising,
even unto Thee who art Ra in Thy strength,
who travellest over the Heavens
in Thy bark at the Uprising of the Sun.
Tahuti standeth in His splendour at the prow,
and Ra-Hoor abideth at the helm.
Hail unto Thee from the Abodes of Night!
Above, the gemmed azure is
The naked splendour of Nuit;
She bends in ecstasy to kiss
The secret ardours of Hadit.
The winged globe, the starry blue,
Are mine, O Ankh-af-na-khonsu!
I am the Lord of Thebes, and I
The inspired forth-speaker of Mentu;
For me unveils the veiled sky,
The self-slain Ankh-af-na-khonsu
Whose words are truth. I invoke, I greet
Thy presence, O Ra-Hoor-Khuit!
Unity uttermost showed!
I adore the might of Thy breath,
Supreme and terrible God,
Who makest the gods and death
To tremble before Thee: —
I, I adore thee!
Appear on the throne of Ra!
Open the ways of the Khu!
Lighten the ways of the Ka!
The ways of the Khabs run through
To stir me or still me!
Aum! let it fill me!
The light is mine; its rays consume
Me: I have made a secret door
Into the House of Ra and Tum,
Of Khephra and of Ahathoor.
I am thy Theban, O Mentu,
The prophet Ankh-af-na-khonsu!
By Bes-na-Maut my breast I beat;
By wise Ta-Nech I weave my spell.
Show thy star-splendour, O Nuit!
Bid me within thine House to dwell,
O winged snake of light, Hadit!
Abide with me, Ra-Hoor-Khuit!”

You all may be familiar with the work being done by Eleusyve Productions to produce Aleister Crowley’s The Rites of Eleusis, and the video above is one track from the upcoming production of The Rite of Sol. Recently Eleusyve Productions sent out an email which I want to share:
“We’ve been continuing our efforts to bring Aleister Crowley’s The Rite of Sol, a rock opera to the stage. The soundtrack has been released, the parts have been cast, and we’re preparing for set building and rehearsals throughout the summer for what promises to be a fantastic production. So much to do!
I know many of you supported us when we raised money through Kickstarter to fund this production, and once again I would like to thank you on behalf of everyone at Eleusyve Productions. We would never have made it this far without you.
Money continues to be tight for us, and the cost of rehearsal and theater space have almost doubled. We’re budgeting carefully, and pinching every penny, but we’re also hoping that we can continue to count on your support.
Tickets are already on sale for The Rite of Sol, and while it is still many months out, any time you purchase tickets in advance, that helps us plan the event and cover our production costs. Please consider purchasing tickets early if you can. Go ahead and do it now… I’ll wait.
Additionally, we have a full catalog of earlier productions available on CD and DVD, as well as limited merchandise. Any purchase you make helps to fund future presentations. If you’ve already got copies, consider buying one as a gift.
Lastly, while the Kickstarter campaign is over, if you feel so moved please consider making a small donation. There are simple methods for doing so through the Eleusyve site. Classical era composers had wealthy patrons, modern composers get grants, we on the fringe rely on our wonderful friends.
Visit us at www.eleusyve.com, listen to samples, watch clips, and be inspired.
Thank you once again for supporting us.”
Yeah, so, consider helping to support the work they have done, are doing, and will do to bring The Rites of Eleusis to life and to music. You can check out the library for a bunch of information and the scripts of all the Rites of Eleusis, but do consider checking out these productions either in person or via one of the CDs or DVDs to help support the project.
As a thank you for their successful campaign to fund The Rite of Sol, Eleusyve Productions has recently posted a video of Pan to Artemis (Uncharmable Charmer) from The Rite of Luna in 2005.
There’s still 20 hours to go in their campaign, so check it out and see if you want to get in on any of their special thank you gifts. Remember that this was the 2nd and reduced target for getting the production going, so every bit more helps them achieve their vision for this next installment in an ever increasingly well done series of productions.
