An Historical Summary of Angelic Hierarchies from Part VII: The “Seven” Thrones in In Operibus Sigillo Dei Aemeth by David Richard Jones.

“The last important source for understanding the Thrones and the Dionysian hierarchies before the discovery of the Hermetica is Dante (c. 1265–1321). The Dionysian order is central to the structure of the Paradiso of Dante’s Divine Commedy and therefore the Thrones must be encountered on the celestial ascent.

Above are mirrors, Thrones you call them,
from which shines to us God the adjudicator
thus we ensure that it is right to say all these things

Here she was silent, and she appeared
to turn toward other things, reentering, onto the wheel
and again into the dance.
Dante, Paradiso Canto 9″ [via]

Canto 9 — Botticelli

An Historical Summary of Angelic Hierarchies from Part VII: The “Seven” Thrones in In Operibus Sigillo Dei Aemeth by David Richard Jones.

“In this way, Thrones became described as various types of fiery wheels in relation to their function in the chariot of God, as in Ezekiel 1: 15–20:

Now as I beheld the living creates, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces. The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the color of a beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel. When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not when they went. As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of eyes round about them four. And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up. Withersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels of the living creature was in the wheels. When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.” [via]

The Nameless Quest in The Gate of the Sanctuary from The Temple of the Holy Ghost (Collected Works, Vol I) by Aleister Crowley.

“‘You know I will not strike, Sir pure and brave!
Fight me your best—or I shall find a whip!’
That stung me, even me. He wronged me, so:
Therefore some shame and hate informed the blow;
Some coward’s courage pointed me the steel;
Some strength of Hell: we lunge, and leap, and wheel;
Hard breath and laboured hands—the flashes grow
Swifter and cruel—this court hath no appeal!” [via]

Hallowed Light

“Hallowed Light” is a recent track by T. Thorn Coyle. This track is being offered on a “name your price” basis, but proceeds from donations go to support the various projects by Solar Cross Temple.

“This is my gift to you, for Winter Solstice. If you wish to make a donation to Solar Cross Temple, know that it will support our projects: prison ministry, winter fuel for native elders and other good ventures!”

“We are stars fallen down to earth
Kissed-cold with darkness, burning.
We reckon out each moment from our birth.
Finding new ways to shine.

Band together, earthly ones!
Blend your brightness whole, and sing!
Reclaim the wings of angels, strong,
Bring forth now, the change!

(We are the ones)

We seed the earth,
With hallowed light.
The core burns through
This longest night.

There is no apocalypse to come,
No messiah leads our journey
There is now this chance to turn the wheel,
For sleeping ones to rise!

Band together, earthly ones!
Blend your brightness whole, and sing!
Reclaim the wings of angels, strong,
Bring forth now, the change!

(We are the ones)

We seed the earth,
With hallowed light.
The core burns through
This longest night.

(We are these sleepers, waking from long night.
We are anointed ones who claim this sun
Dawn now. Shine now. Burn brightly. Live.)”
